Margot, it is I who appreciate your wonderful insights. I grew up reading adventure novels such as those written by Alistair MacLean, Desmond Bagley and Jack Higgins, and loved them, but always felt a bit miffed that the heroines were very secondary characters with not a great deal to contribute to the story. It was very much the hero’s journey. When I began writing I was determined that my heroines would be just as heroic as my heroes, and I was so pleased when you wrote, “it’s worth noting that this is a modern adventure story – little sign here of the stereotypical helpless “lady in distress” who can do nothing for herself.”.
It’s my goal with my writing to tell a great story and to give readers many hours of entertainment. If I can do that I feel very privileged.
I hope more readers discover your “In the Spotlight” and enjoy your blog as much as I do.

Allan, my apologies for taking so long to reply. I had a glitch with my website for ages and couldn’t “approve’ your comment, and then some ill health put a lot of things on the back-burner. I’d love to discuss your story with you. Would you like to email me? novels at sandycurtis.com (just take out the spaces and convert the “at” )
